Sal's New York Pizzeria was a pizzeria on Monroe Avenue. A slice of pepperoni pizza was $2.50. They offered take out and delivery, but there were also some tables if you needed a place to eat a slice.

Sal's has closed business, a new pizza shop - Big Deal Pizzeria opened on May 2009.

2006-01-04 12:55:21   Delicious! Great thin crust pizza, up there with the best that Rochester has to offer. They offer take out and delivery but there are also some tables if you need a place to eat a slice.
Interior has a kind of "american-chinese fast food" feel. Neon lights, hard seating surfaces, TV hanging out over the counter.
The guys behind the counter are great, very nice and friendly. —RickUrwin

2006-01-04 14:55:43   Try the Popeye pizza, it's awesome. I've never had a "veg" style pizza or been a fan of anything other than cheese and pepperoni but it was really good. —RickUrwin

2006-09-28 20:05:48   The best place to hit up for some cheap and really good pizza after a night of partying! They close at 3am. I tried the plain cheese and it was sooo good. definitely new york style. —OneLove

2007-05-26 13:42:41   sal's is definitely still open. mike is sometimes the only one on staff, so if he needs time off, thats it. i'm working with him to design a sal's website.
