The state streets refers to six residential streets in North Winton Village named for American states: Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Kansas. There is also a Vermont Street but that's a block away off of Culver Road.
The state streets are a somewhat misunderstood part of town. Some believe this is a "ghetto" area but it isn't. The crime rate is relatively low and there are many middle-class home owners.
Kansas Street is also part of the Pocket Neighborhood.
