Target is a national chain department store with seven locations in the Rochester area. An eigth local store is positioned between Rochester and Buffalo in Batavia. One of the latest was constructed in the parking lot of Medley Center.

In 2009, Target opened a prototype store in Chili which carried a selection of fresh groceries in addition to the dry and frozen grocery sections already found in most stores. In late 2011, Target began adding fresh grocery sections its other stores in the Rochester area. The remodelled store formats are based on the Chili store.

Many of the stores have a pharmacy department in the store. Additionally, most Target stores have photo developing labs - with a few even having photo studios. Newer Target stores also contain a Starbucks offering which is not actually part of the Starbucks chain, but a franchise within the store.

2012-07-25 08:04:00   Living in Chili, is I am spoiled with having Target close to Wegmans. So I can cost compare and if something is cheaper at the other store, I can just walk over once the other store is finish shopping at the current store. The Target stores I been to have been clean and the customer service has been great. —bonnev659
