Wikimedia" Route 39 is an east-west New York state highway running from Chautauqua County into Livingston County. In the greater Rochester area (Livingston County) it is a relatively short local highway that runs east from Leicester to Geneseo and then turns north to connect to Avon. In between, you will find South Avon and Ashantee.
At the Avon terminus, Route 39 intersects with Routes 5 and 20. To continue north to Rochester you turn east on West Main Street and then take the second left on "Rochester Road", which shortly becomes East River Road. Yes, the very same East River Road that passes RIT, Jefferson Road, Genesee Valley Park and eventually forms an on-ramp for I-390.
