Cook Iron Store is a longtime independent hardware store in the St. Paul Quarter. It was founded in 1907 as Daniel L. Cook's blacksmith shop. The business moved to its current location, the Journal American Building, in 1936. Since the 1980s Cook Iron has specialized in construction and MRO products such as Black & Decker/DeWalt, Cooper Tools, and Stanley and Ridge Tools. They branched out into the national market in 2004 with the launch of HeavyDutyStore.com, a tool and contractor supplies website. They are also the sole converter of cotton shop rags in the area, since the acquisition of Flower City Wiper in 2009.1
