Nikko was an upscale sushi restaurant, kitchen, and lounge on the ground floor of Capron Street Lofts in the Washington Square Neighborhood.
It had its grand opening on December 3, 2011. According to the June 28, 2014 Democrat and Chronicle website, the owners of Capron Street Lofts would not renew the lease. The owners are looking for a new downtown location and looking at opening a Nikko Express Kiosk with pre-made lunches.

2011-12-31 20:12:29 Delicious food, great atmosphere, eclectic menu. My husband loves sushi, but I'm not a huge fan, so Nikko is the best of both worlds for us! Will definitely be dining here again! —AutumnMarie
2012-02-22 15:14:56 Had lunch here a couple weeks ago and it was fantastic. The sushi was fresh and presented beautifully, and I also got the fried calamari that included fried jalapeño peppers and little garlic slices - really tasty! Will definitely return. —DavidGottfried
2012-03-21 20:28:26 Not bad for sushi in Rochester. Very interesting drink creations with mix of old style classics and new modern herbal creations. Would recommend over other places serving sushi. The Octopus is fantastic, Miso soup is not the star of the menu, the burger- while decent, does not rival Good Luck version as it aims to. —NightlifeCher
2012-05-15 09:08:15 Nikko is clearly a place for "the beautiful people" - trendy, young and hip professionals. The room was bustling on a Friday evening, and quite loud. To pigeonhole it as a "sushi restaurant" is clearly a misnomer, as there are more non-sushi items than sushi. With that said, the food is the star of the show here - creative, tasty and well prepared. The roasted beet salad is a symphony of colors, tastes, and textures. And, as others have noted, the grilled octopus is tender and delightful, but could use a little more spice. The wine list is thoughtful with pours being fairly generous. Our service was good, until a busser tried to take our water glasses from us before we were done with the table (and while we were drinking from them). —JGerek
2013-06-02 11:51:20 I am sad to see this place rapidly declining. I went on a Saturday night, they were out of several items (tempura shrimp, calamari, a few specials). The server seemed uninterested in being there; hastily dropping off items. The molten was much smaller, each of the rolls were poorly made with the ingredients crumbling and falling apart as we picked them up; we ordered several sushi rolls, they were all rolled this way. Selection of rolls have gone downhill, in my opinion. Now mostly tempura battered shrimp, I would imagine is an attempt to provide cheaper items at the same price. This used to be the only place in Rochester I would order sushi and sashimi. Now it appears I may be out of luck until I go on vacation. —nightlifecher
2013-12-03 10:15:01 We went to Nikko intending to order sushi but found the sushi prices were a bit high and were outnumbered by the non-Japanese options on the menu. I would say that Nikko is a fine-dining restaurant that also offers sushi. We had the burger and full rack of lamb, both of which were fantastic and very reasonably priced. The place is hip and high-class, we look forward to visiting again. —jasons
2014-06-28 09:45:56 I tried to go there last Friday night, and they appear to be closed. There was just a sign on the front door saying something like: "Do Not Use: Alarm Will Sound" —MarcPrud’hommeaux
