What is Rochester AmeriCorps?
Each year Rochester AmeriCorps enrolls members who are placed at a variety of community, city and county organizations. Our mission is to mobilize our members and neighborhood residents to improve the reality and perception of public safety in Rochester's highest need neighborhoods, with an emphasis on community based initiatives involving children and youth. Our program sponsored by Monroe Community College is located at the Damon City Campus in downtown Rochester.
What do our members do?
Members carry out activities in the areas of youth development, violence prevention and substance abuse education, social development and recreation, educational support and community organizing. Daily schedules and specific responsibilities vary by site1.
