The Commissary is Downtown Rochester's non profit food incubator. Startup and small scale food business entrepreneurs have access to a one-of-a-kind facility to test, prepare, market, and sell their products. A project of Rochester Downtown Development Corporation and the only kitchen incubator facility in Upstate New York, The Commissary is located in the Sibley Building.
Members of The Commissary are able to rent a kitchen station on an hourly basis whenever they need it and avoid taking on the investment risk of expensive commercial equipment. Members will also have access to wide-ranging workshops that focus on building successful food businesses, as well as a mentorship program and sessions with food industry advisors.
The Commissary also plays host to cooking classes, chef demonstrations, pop up dinners, and other food-centric celebrations that highlight the talents of our members.
