Rochester General Health System (formerly known as ViaHealth) is the parent health care company that runs:

• Rochester General Hospital a 528 bed hospital in the city/Irondequoit
  

• Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in Newark, Wayne County
  

• Independent Living For Seniors in Irondequoit which provides health, medical and social services as a alternative to nursing home care
  

• Hill Haven in Webster, a 24-hour care facility for long-term, rehabilitation or hospice care
  

• The Diabetes Care and Resource Center on the former Genesee Hospital campus

Viahealth also used to run the former Genesee Hospital, which closed in 2001.

As of 2006, ViaHealth is the fifth-largest employer in the Greater Rochester area.
