Quick Hints
-
Your user page is for information about you. We generally don't delete, remove or edit a user page, but it may happen if it's totally off topic.
-
RocWiki's target is Rochester related information, and completely unrelated pages tend to get removed. Anyway, there's already a place for all that other stuff.
-
Descriptions should be mostly factual, with a little wiggle room for 'common knowledge' stuff. Save your opinions for the comments section.
-
If you want to test things out, please make use of the Wiki Sand Box.
-
Looking for ideas on a new page to create? See Wanted Pages.
-
When you edit a page, there's a "Preview" button right next to the "Save Changes" button. Use it. Love it. Nothing on the wiki is ever truly deleted; think before you hit "Save Changes!" Besides, it takes up space when you edit pages many unnecessary times.
-
Keep names as useful and accurate as possible. If the page you intend to create has to do with the University of Rochester only, for example, make the page name University of Rochester/My Topic. Try to respect our page title capitalization standards and use the provided templates whenever possible.
RocWiki has an active community of users willing to help new members. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the comment box below or on your user page.
