A small village in Wyoming County, Castile had an estimated population of 1,026 in 2003. Located in the Genesee River Valley, it is approximately 43 miles southwest of Rochester. Named for the eponymous region in Spain, it is best known for Mary Jemison, the White Woman of the Senecas. Now it is primarily a gateway for Letchworth State Park. Major roads in and out of town are Route 39 and Route 19A.
