I put them in because they now have open wireless
How does one fix that besides putting in a new page?
the apostrophe is not legal in the names? etc. I can add them again under their other name, K J Quinlan Pub and Brew, if needed without the apostrophe. Answer to general questions about rochester previous comment: inforochester.com may help —JackGreenky
2007-07-12 19:00:12 The search feature on this site is a little idiosyncratic and sometimes doesn't return results with punctuation. However, if you search for Quinlan's on Google, you'll find that the first link is the page you made on RocWiki. You'll also find that the Wifi Hotspots and Pubs/Bars pages link to it, so you're all set. —DaveMahon
2007-07-12 20:01:30 The search issue is a known issue and we're working on it. One interim solution is to rename the page (rename is one of the buttons on the edit page) to the "real" name. Rename leaves the old page as a redirect so no links are broken. —RottenChester

2007-09-26 14:25:42 Content on the Front Page and Explore should specifically and explicitly be about Rochester. 2taste.com is a review site for Rochester restaurants, as is the D&C link.
Spirits Review discusses the relative qualities of myriad spirits and your adventures in finding and trying them. If local spirits appear on there (I didn't check all that hard), they certainly aren't the primary focus of the site.
As such, the site certainly deserves links from this wiki, just not on the front page. You'll find links off of the Blogs page and the Commercial [web sites] pages. —DaveMahon

From June 23 through September 6, the following links off the Front Page got 0 clicks: Farm Markets, Farmers' Markets, Pharmacies, Rocwiki, Want to help (the latter two are in the intro paragraph at the top of the page) —DaveMahon
2008-09-07 10:35:38 I suspect folks get to the learn more, click through and don't need the welcome your help. Does the Want To Help page get many hits from the other link-ins Wiki Community and Wiki Community/RocWiki in the Classroom? I just did some click throughs myself so the count will be of next time.
I suspect that a lot of newcomers to the site come mostly via search engine hits or external links to one of our pages. A great feature would be to recognize that and automatically add a button link to the Welcome Your Help page. Is there any tweakable functionality around the USerName - NewUSer Login distinction at the top of page. One thought would be to have a conditional FrontPage for never-been-seen users, returning users (cookie only), and logged in (cookie) users.

2009-11-18 14:29:00 I have a proposed edit for the intro paragraph on the Front Page. It would be great if in the part that says "what they love or loathe about their city" the word "love" was a wiki link to the Optimism page, and the word "loathe" was a link to the Pessimism page.

2014-04-28 09:37:07 Why is Alternative Medicine featured on the RocWiki Front Page to the exclusion of Medical Practices? I have nothing against Alternative Medicine but have to believe that more people are interested in "traditional" medical practives than alternatives at this point.
On a similar note, Why is Wegmans featured on the Front Page to the exclusion of Grocery Stores? I love Weggies as much as, or more than, the next guy (and it is a prominent Rochester-based business) but don't know why it is the only single/unique business that makes the Front Page? —jgerek

2014-05-05 12:19:14 I am looking for a needle in a haystack, and need some help. I am searching for the drummer of a band (do not know the name of the band) that used to play at FREGY'S / CLUB 11 in/on Marion Road, in the Early 1970's. I am doing this to help a loved one. My cousin is the child of this drummer, she has never met him and is unsure if her mother ever even informed him she was pregnant. The mother will not give her, or does not have any additional information except this: His name is Randy Crawford-Crawson or last name being some thing of the like. It is believed that he is originally from Wisconsin. The mothers name is Joyce, she lived in Rochester at the time of conception.
I am also a child who did not met their biological father (until me early teens). I understand my loved ones concern want to find and meet her biological father. She also has a daughter, and would like to get her biological grandpa's medical history. —hknutson

2015-11-13 17:44:04 I want to throw my boyfriend an amazing Rochester themed surprise birthday party! We live in Honolulu, my boyfriend was born and raised in Rochester; misses and loves it.
So far I plan on making trash plates, pizza logs and fried cake. I will be making everything from scratch since there are no places here that make these delicious things.
I would greatly appreciate any feed back and Ideas on how to bring Rochester to him for the day.

2016-01-18 21:41:19 Joseph, probably easiest to use the "business" template and generate a new page for your pickers group. Just type the "Flower City Pickers" into the search box, and it will ask you if you want to create a new page, then pick the template and fill in from there. —DottieHoffmann
