The E.D.E.N. (Every Day Eating Naturally) Urban Gardens are community vegetable gardens and pocket parks in Beechwood and Culver-Merchants. They were founded around 2011 as a cooperative effort between St. Mark's & St. John's Church (adjacent to the first Garden, on Culver) and Foodlink to provide fresh produce to the neighborhood; there are now numerous partner organizations. The sites have raised beds and picnic tables. In October 2021 a $160,000 grant was received to fund purchase and transfer of the city-owned plots to the City Roots Community Land Trust, ensuring that they would continue to be used as gardens. 1
