Highland Market was a small grocery store, deli, and bakery in the South Wedge/Highland Park neighborhood. The shop included a year-round ice cream parlor, a coffee counter, and sandwiches and Greek dishes made to order.
It closed for renovations and reopened after several years in April of 2017.

2017-04-10 19:43:47 It's finally open, and it exceeds my expectations! The owner is friendly and asked for suggestions of what to stock. They also assured me that they will be keeping their prices competitive with normal grocery stores. They have lots of empty space on the shelves where they will be putting things requested by customers, but they already have everything that I regularly need. Their pitas are excellent.
Apparently the old place was leased to someone else for many years, and they damaged the reputation of the place. But now it's back in the hands of the original owner and I'm impressed. They told me that the delays to opening were due to the city changing the terms of their building permit after it had already been approved. —AlanBeadle
