2008-06-07 07:12:25   We now have over 60 Teas from allover the world. We do not have breakfast but do brunch on Sundays from 11:00-3:00. Ta-Ta —maureenbecker

2009-01-25 08:59:06   I've been to La-Tea-Da several times and always have a wonderful meal. The food is excellent, both in taste and in presentation. The atmosphere is whimsical and fun. I wish I could spend more time there. It's sad that a couple of people with axes to grind would come to this website and trash a business. La-Tea-Da has lots of fans out there and I'm one of them. Keep up the good work! —StemCell

2010-03-18 17:20:43   Dear Tammy. I really do not know what Tearoom you walked into but your review was very mean spirited, and mostly untrue. After winning #1 tearoom in N,y. State and having the board of health give me an A+ just about the time you came in I am very confused at your remarks.Everyone has an off Day , but our bathroom has been featured in different articles and is not filthy, after Genesee Hospital was raised all of Park Ave had a mouse problem and I have spent thousand s of dollars to "win the War" what you saw in the back was a mouse pad [just in case.} and I am thrilled I have the back entrance so people like your aunt can enjoy us, Yes It is the working section and needs more work, But many people in wheelchairs have come through that way.As far as smoking ,It is allowed now only outside . I invite you back with her on me, I have nothing to hide and maybe you were having an off day, but these mean comments really hurt small business' I make tooo many children and seniors and students too happy to believe your story. Think again before you spew such ridiculous remarks Thanks so much maureen —maureenusdane

2010-03-19 16:23:03   I have recomended this lovely spot to many friends and always enjoy comming here to have tea and lunch. I have been though the kitchens and have never had anything but the best service and food. As a mother and a nurse I would recomend this place for anyone who has a sense of humor and enjoys light fun fare. It is homey and comfy with non matching china cups. The chicken salad with taragon is fantastic!! We are never rushed and have stayed to have girl talk over a few pots of darjeeling. Keep up the great work! —Mandy

2010-05-02 14:19:07   This is one of my favorite places to take out of town guests because it is so unique. The service is always delightful, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun! I've always enjoyed the different varieties of tea, and I come here specifically for the berry chicken salad when it is in season. Another favorite is the scone with devonshire cream and jam; this is one of the few places where I always order dessert! And for the record, I have walked through the back kitchen area once when my friends and I parked on Park ave in the rain and a server motioned us through the closer back entrance, and I did not see anything that made me not want to eat there. I've never had anything less than a wonderful experience at this place! —SusanVanCott

2010-05-06 16:24:40   It is funny but even though I had a pleasent experience at La tea Da I would not go back. I went to look for a place to have a tea party for a friends bridal shower and it souded like the perfect spot however when I arrived it was somewhat disapointing. No it was not dirty at all and the staff was extreamly pleasent. I was too late for lunch so I had a cupcake that was to die for, but it was the decore that turned me away.I do understand that it is going for that grandmas cozy house feel but thats what it is. Grandmas cozy, extreamly cluttered and badly decorated house.liek an eposode of horaders. the space is not that large or it is just awkwardly set due to the large stairway in the middle that seperated the rooms.and with all the hats and costumes and pillows and christmas trees it made it seem smaller. What made me decide not to have the party at the location was the christmas decorations. To me they do not look nice out of season, and they were in every room that I saw.I hear nothing but good things about the food and if outdoor seating were available i would consider having a sit down meal but as for eating inside its not really my cup of tea...bad pun ot intended —VanessaSeaber

2010-05-12 01:20:54   I really wanted to like this place. It's way closer to my home than weg tea bar. I don't care about how the place looked, or how the staff was or even the mediocre food. It could of been a shack in the woods for all I cared. But... I payed 7 bucks for a pot of tea. I expect it to be brewed correctly. It was horrible and that is sugar coating it. They served the pot with the teabags in it! The tea sat in the pot for who knows how long. The tea was so bitter and tannic that it was simply undrinkable. It was a waste tea :( The staff needs education on time and temperatures of different teas heck, taking the bags out would be a start. If you are not a tea drinker and you load your tea up with lots and lots of sugar and cream...It won't be so bad. I'm sorry sticking with danny. —soph

2010-08-14 16:13:13   I love this place! It is one of a kind, and perfect for a girls day out! I'm just sad that they close before dinner time. —LauraBailey

2011-01-11 21:08:07   I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our La Tea Da experience. We celebrated my daughter's 5th birthday with 3 of her little girlfriends and some lady friends. We had a wonderful nippy named Gigi. She was so pleasant and knowledgeable about the teas and food on the menu. The best was that she had a wonderful sense of humor. The gentleman server whose name I believe was Frank, may be one of the funniest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Hilarious!!!! The food was outrageously delicious and the presentation was fabulous! Don't even get me started on the desserts. The girls had such a wonderful time, no one wanted to leave. We will definitely be back and also telling everyone that we know how great it was. I cannot thank you enough for such a special day. FABULOUS Miss Maureen!!! xoxoxoxo —Michellewilkie

2011-02-13 20:09:27   Hello, visited La-Tea-Da today, and was not pleased with it at all. When my family and I walked in, we were welcomed with a friendly hello, and that all they offered was a brunch, that was fine. My 10 yr. old daughter really wanted to expierence the environment with hats, etc...., so we decided to stay and that they could seat us at that time. My feeling about the bathroom was unpleasant, like dirty, toilet did not flush. The front entrance was like an old run down home that has not been cleaned in years. Sorry, I saw filth on the floors and every section of this place, and was just dirty. Would you clean before you had guests coming to your house? The food was unpleasant, coffee good, the scone was the best part. Our server was nice. I would not suggest this place to anyone who in anal about dirt. Sorry. —Renee

2011-02-20 15:52:07   Had a very negative experience. Called weeks ahead to reserve a Saturday pre-Valentine's day outing w/ my in-laws. Was told they wouldn't take an official reservation, but if we came in the morning at 11:30am it would be fine — "just call a few minutes before arriving" so they can reserve a table. The day came and we called at 11-ish to tell them we were coming, at which point they told us they were full and we couldn't probably sit until sometime in the afternoon. I was perturbed at being led astray. The woman on the phone was extremely unhelpful and very short w/ us. We decided we won't ever go here, and all the previous negative feedback from others on this page confirmed it for us. —LePetitChien

2011-03-18 13:45:54   I love this place. I have the full afternoon tea at least a few times a month, and the scones are wonderful! The servers are always attentive, and the decor is a riot. —dancencounters

2011-07-24 21:43:09   My mother and I visited La-Tea-Da! Tea Room and Parlour today to try the food as we were thinking of having the parlour cater my upcoming baby shower. Unfortunately, first impressions speak volumes... Neither of us were impressed by the decor, we both agreed it was not tasteful and the amount of stuff in the room actually made us feel claustrophobic (this "stuff" included a christmas tree, stuffed animals, paintings, artificial flowers, old wedding gowns, tea pots, and a dehumidifier). The building needs a lot of work. So much so in fact, that I had to force myself to stop looking around so I could eat. My mother's napkin was dirty - as in not washed before being reused - which was disgusting. The pastry plate we split was alright, but the italian cookie on the plate was very stale as was the petit four. We watched a server not remove unused tea cups from a table after a party left, instead she brushed off the table (flinging crumbs on the floor) and moved the teacups/saucers to the front of each place setting for the next table. Who's to say whether or not the previous customers handled the china? The servers' attire was not professional, which contributed to the overall dislike of both the atmosphere and experience.

If anyone on this site is looking for a great place to have a real afternoon tea, check out Asa Ransom in Clarence, NY. My mother and I have been there several times and the china matches, the linens are clean, the atmosphere is beautiful and the tea sandwiches / treats are fresh and delicious. We were hoping to have the same experience at La-Tea-Da!. Neither of us will recommend this tea room to friends or family. —MichelleSmith

2012-03-16 14:06:45   Don't sell Groupons if you don't plan on actually honoring them! I spent $15 to get $8 off my 'meal' when it was supposed to be worth $30. You made us feel like second class citizens for actually presenting the groupon. The purpose of the Groupon is to promote business, not turn it away! Don't worry, we will not be back! Ridiculous (lack of) service!! —MartyHotaling

2012-04-11 08:58:43   I was with some girlfriends at La-Tea-Da last night enjoying cupcakes from the adjoining Sugar Mountain Bake Shop. The cupcakes themselves were very good, our waitress was sweet and attentive, and we had a wonderful time chattering away. Near the end of the night we were alarmed to spot a mouse a few feet away under another table in the pink "Hat Room" where we were seated. I thought maybe it had just wandered in the nearby front door, and since by that time most of my friends had their feet and purses up off the floor, I congratulated myself on wearing sturdy boots instead of cute flats and got up to see if I could chase it back outside. One of the establishment's employees found me crouched down near where we had seen the mouse and said (I think jokingly) "Get back in your seat! What are you doing?" A little taken aback, I told him we had spotted a mouse. "Oh, Henry?" he asked. "Yeah, ever since all the construction around here, mice have been a problem." His nonchalance was a little disconcerting. For a place that serves food and has lots of nicknacks and costumes around on the floors and window sills, I would expect a very different mentality. We left pretty much immediately afterward. Even if he was trying to be funny, I would have appreciated some reassurance that an effort is being made to get rid of the mice. As it is, I'd think twice before eating here again, which is really a shame because it's a fun place for a girls' night out—and we did laugh all the way to our cars about the "memory" the mouse made. —SaraB
