The Lakes

Some consider Onieda Lake to be the "thumb of the Finger Lakes." Although it was formed by the same glacial actions that created the other Finger Lakes, it is far outside the Finger Lakes region and not generally considered to be a part of the Finger Lakes.
Formed in part by glacial actions2, the lakes are oriented north-south and appear as a set of fingers on the map.
