Former Location |
2851 Clover Street, Pittsford, NY 14534 |
Tavern at Clover was a bar and casual restaurant (possibly upscale restaurant) in Pittsford. The location is an authentic 1860 barn. The restaurant was the same owners at Tavern 58 at Gibbs.
They opened April 24, 2014. The location was previously the Crystal Barn.
Closed in 2016, citing "a mix of slightly too-high prices and a destination vibe that didn’t work well in the suburbs."

2014-05-04 13:53:10 Very nice. Went here for my birthday dinner. Meals are definitely pricey but bill was pleasantly lower then expected. They were packed and the bar appears to be hugely popular. We'll definitely go back —peteb
2014-11-24 08:45:08 Went the other night.
Food was OK, not great. The menu is basically the same as Tavern 58 at Gibbs. As with Tavern 58, the menu relies on entrees with interesting/odd mixes of flavors and lots and lots of ingredients. The pub burger has brie, provolone and cheddar with chipotle mayo. None of those disparate flavors stand out. There must be at least a dozen types of bread on all the different sandwiches, which means they're going to struggle to have fresh bread especially since the restaurant is not that busy.
Service was OK, not great. The main dining room on the 2nd floor requires a trudge up the stairs for drinks and food so it takes a while for things to arrive at the table. Servers were friendly but inexperienced and didn't seem to get a good rhythm down (missed bringing all menus to the table, late on the bread, etc.)
Overall, OK, not great. Also, if you have ever eaten at the old Crystal Barn, you'll feel right at home in terms of the decor, because it is exactly the same except for a few pictures. Unfortunately this means that the carpet on the stairs is noticeably dirty, and there are chips and dings everywhere (such as the light at our table which was missing a shard of glass on the shade).
Price: entrees are in the $20 range but you can get a sandwich in the $10s. The drinks are surprisingly expensive ($10.50 for a call cocktail, $6.50 for a 16 oz draft). —rottenchester
