2012-04-23 17:10:18 Not too impressed. The pulled pork was decent, but the brisket, mac and cheese, fries and candied yams were all pretty mediocre to bad. Won't be going back —jberna
2012-05-06 03:28:03 I love this place best BBQ in town. —amandabrown
2012-09-15 18:57:19 Ive eaten here numerous times and it is always delicious! cornbread is so moist and the mac and cheese is great! There bbq is great per my husband. as a vegetarian they have one the best lentil burgers around but the portabello roll is amazing! Great place, friendly staff, and great food! I really hope this place does well! Support it!!! —rcl
2013-11-11 18:41:06 Was not at all impressed. The BBQ from the prepared food section at Wegman's was better and cheaper. Neither of those should be true. I also don't like how many times RocDocs says they have had to have health reinspections. Will not be back. —badfish
2014-09-07 11:56:43 no no no man. my husband and i were jonesing for bbq a couple of weekends ago, so i looked online and found texas blues, which had mainly positive feedback. i did check the inspection information on rocdocs.com, and was very hesitant to go to texas blues after seeing they had 20 infractions, but i telephoned them and got assurances that those inspection results were old and the problems had been addressed or were incorrect. so, we went, and we we ordered a 3-meat combo platter. the portions were very small; the meat was full of fat, gristle, and silver skin! so gross. the side of beans was only a couple of spoonfuls, and very bland. we liked the fries, but that was it. we went to speak with the guy there to see if we could have our money refunded, since we were not happy to eat what was essentially a $20 order of french fries. the owner came up to the counter, told the guy working there that he would deal with us, and began berating us. he ended up making me so angry that i tossed a plastic fork in his general direction, and he called the cops on me, telling them that he had been assaulted. i wanted to stick around to see what the cops would end up doing, since i found the situation amusing, but my husband just wanted to leave. so as we were leaving he threw us out. a crappy experience all of the way around. —jeanettejeanette
2014-09-07 15:35:57 Regardless of the poor food and service, throwing your fork at someone is pretty damn tacky. Grow up. —EileenF
2014-09-07 12:12:06 The owner of this place is my former landlord. He never answered calls, never fixed anything, lied to us constantly and was sued by 2 of the 4 other tenants in my building in the 2 years I was there. There is NO WAY I would let that scammer be responsible for a business that was serving me food. Look them up on RocDocs, they get health infractions all the time. —badfish
2014-09-08 00:55:53 EileenF; while this place may deserve some of the negative reviews, I would not hold jeanettejeanettes' reviews to any form of merit. Reading some other of her reviews it sounds like a restaurants worst nightmare; frequently wanting a refund for some form of dissatisfaction at end of the experience in addition to the general shameless and entitled behaviors and citing how beneath Rochester cuisine is to their cooking. That's what I have taken note of, anyways. JJ; please, take heed and do reflect on how you treat other's and businesses or, stay home , perhaps someplace other than Rochester? Personally, I can not review this restaurant and have nothing more to say other than comment on persons own admittance of interactions. —nightlifecher
2016-03-18 21:39:35 This restaurant is overpriced and lack luster. They have messed up my order more times than I can count and when I call to complain they say "there is nothing we can do about it". I will never eat here again. They have stolen my money for the last time. —sherlyu
