Rochester is blessed with four beautiful seasons, the best one being winter. Although located along Lake Ontario, there isn't that much lake effect snow as seen in places like Oswego. But Rochester gets a healthy amount to play with.

Pedestrians can use the enclosed skyway downtown.

Ice scrapers are a must for your vehicle. In a pinch, use a CD case or credit card.

Shovel the sidewalk around your house if there's 3 inches or less of snow. It's the law. After 3 inches, then the City will help you out. If your sidewalk is more than 60" wide then you are in luck as the City is always responsible.

Stop pushing snow from your driveway out onto the sidewalk. Jerk.

Ski to where you're going.

If there is an ice storm try ice skating.

Ride the bus and let somebody else drive.
