Newark is the largest and most populous village in Wayne County. It is part of the Town of Arcadia and was incorporated in 1853. Newark is especially well-known for the Jackson & Perkins rose company.
Route 31 runs west to east from Village of Palmyra through Newark to the Village of Lyons.
Public water supply is from Canandaigua Lake.
