North East Area Development, Inc. (NEAD), was a not-for-profit neighborhood organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. The volunteers and staff worked with city officials and agencies to revitalize and stabilize the Sector 8 neighborhood in the northeast quadrant of Rochester. The headquarters were in Beechwood.
Northeast Area Development (N.E.A.D.) also acted as a larger umbrella group for neighborhoods in the area.
In May 2022, following the conviction of Executive Director George Moses, the NYS Attorney General petitioned the courts for dissolution of NEAD, its subsidiary Group 14621 Community Association, and its for-profit Freedom Community Enterprises Inc.
