Red Robin is a national restaurant chain with emphasis on gourmet burgers and drinks (similar to Ruby Tuesday). They serve unlimited fries with every entreé.

The first Rochester location opened in the fall of 2005 in the (then new) Towne Center Webster shopping plaza. The second location opened in the fall of 2006 in Marketplace Square on Jefferson Road. A third location opened at The Mall at Greece Ridge in spring of 2014.

2008-03-10 20:54:52   Overall pretty good. I recommend the Bonzai burger (Hawaiian Pineapple, Teryaki) ... it's really good! The service is typically decent, though the place can get a little loud with large groups at times. Still, it's typically worth a visit! One of my favorites. —LincolnComet

2008-04-11 15:13:36   The burgers are always good here (I recommend the Banzai burger, Royal Red Robin Burger or the Chicken Bruschetta thing). The service is always above my expectations for a chain like this. My one complaint being most often a party of two (handsome Hubby and I) we have to sit like on someone else's lap at the booths in the middle of the place. I really dislike that feeling of interrupting someone else's dinner or having my dinner interrupted by them. Gets especially cramped in the winter with all the coats stuffed down beside you. —StephanieTodd

2008-04-11 19:31:44   We used to visit this chain when we lived in Maryland, long before it came up here. Always had a good experience. Pricy, yes - but this is one of the few places that actually cooks the burgers the right temp time after time (you would be surprised how many times my medium comes out well) - My fave is the mushroom burger (which actually has a MOUNTAIN of shrooms) & hubby's fave is the 5 alarm. Several posts references Zebb's which we also frequent & is good, but this chain does a really consistent job at burgers. —TriciaSeymour

2008-05-16 13:31:37   Terrible, better burgers at Lindburgers or Dons Original. —MrRochester

2008-07-06 16:56:11   Have only been to Webster - it was pretty good food, reasonably priced, but I felt like I was dining with the people at the next table! The tables are WAY too close together. Also, not a great choice if you don't want to be around scores of kids hopped up on sodas begging for balloons. Zebbs is a much, much better burger. —DGandDJ

2008-07-08 19:57:31   Great food. Hate the atmosphere. Try eating there and carrying on an adult conversation - while every five minutes, the waitstaff is descending on a nearby table for an obnoxious and loud birthday song. Or while the idiotic Robin mascot is stopping by your table to engage you (great for kids, but my 40-year-old wife and I, and our teenage daughter, just want to be left alone). The place is horribly noisy. Also, the steak fries are mediocre at best and yet they're always pushing them - "would you like free refills on your fries" - like it's Aunt Edna's tuna casserole. I wish they had a "no BS" adult section, with no noise, no kids, no birthdays, and no Robin. —bionicsimmons

2008-09-29 17:00:02   What's wrong with me? Had a good coupon, so went back (Henrietta). Mostly RIT kids now, spoiled and obnoxious. Burgers: overcooked, overpriced (even with a coupon). Then they claimed to have a problem with the soda machine, yet other patrons were getting refills no problem. Asked for more fries, server replied "two basket limit." What!? —JhirkFace

2008-10-26 17:35:21   Of the current locations, Henrietta is more crowded (usually), but I'd rather wait there than have the experience we typically have at the Webster location.

Slow service, bungled orders, cold food, inattention to drink refills - all are par for the course in Webster. Having been to Webster several times in the past six months, and always had one or two things wrong with our $14/person hamburger experience, the "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" maxim is definitely in force from this point forward. —bionicsimmons

2009-04-01 10:40:23   A few words of advice: If you like Red Robin's burgers, do yourself a favor and drive a couple blocks down Jefferson Road to Burger King to get the exact same thing for a third of the price. Red Robin uses the same seeded rolls, the same burger patties, and waaaay too much mayo, just like Burger King. Ordered the western BBQ burger, but the 'crispy onion straws' were incredibly soggy. The steak fries were nothing at all to write home about. Additionally, it is way too loud and the tables are too close together. The one redeeming quality was the nice waitress. This place is for you if you love the TGIFridays, 'pieces of flair' vibe and enjoy overpaying for middling food. If not, grab a burger at Schallers, Don's, Bill Gray's, Tom Wahls... all are better than Red Robin. —MRich

2009-06-21 19:40:37   Was there last night for dinner (Webster location). I suspected my visit was going to be interesting when a beer at the bar cost me $5.07.

The place was full at 7:00pm. We waited 20 minutes for a table, which wasn't too bad considering there was a line forming to get in.

The wait staff was attentive and friendly.

$9 for a gourmet hamburger?

I have two words. You choose which combo works for you.

Burger King

Bill Gray's

Tom Wahl's

Don's Original

Vic & Irv's

2010-04-06 13:11:25   The descriptions of the burgers are far more appetizing than the burgers themselves. If you are looking for a sit-down, national chain burger restaurant, try Champps, Ruby Tuesdays or Chili's. —ChristineH

2015-11-15 14:52:48   I heard about Red Robin at the Greece Ridge Mall that it was a pretty good place to eat. I never been there so I thought I'd check it out. After being seated 10 going on 15 mins had passed and no one came to our table. So I stopped a worker and asked, "are we going to be served? We have been waiting 10 going on 15 mins." He got our drinks and sent a waiter over to our table. The waiter apologized and stated that he didn't see us. Are you serious? I asked for my burger to be well done and it wasn't it was still a little pink inside. Half our order wasn't delivered so we asked about that and got attitude from the person we asked. Finally the rest of our order came. The person I called over to our table came by to see if everything was okay. I told him no, and what was going on with half our order missing, and meat not fully cooked as I requested it to be. He apologized and sent over the manager to our table. I told the manager what had happen and how I felt. My first time there and it was a bad experience and I won't be back nor will I recommend the place to anyone. —LadyBug
