US Hwy 20 (WikiMedia) US Route 20, like NY State Route 5, is one of those marvelously long and winding unrestricted US highways. Unlike Route 5, the 3365 mile US 20 links Newport, OR and Boston, MA. Curiously, for much of Rochester region, it is on the same roadbed as Route 5. It also shares the same route west of Buffalo to the PA line. Note that there is also Route 20A or Alternate Route 20 which runs parallel just South of Route 20 through much of the region.
Rochester Area Segment
Traveling west to east, Route 20 passes through Darien (home of Darien Lake), Alexander, Bethany and Pavilion Center before it merges with Route 5 just west of Avon. See our Route 5 page for discussion of the remaining Rochester area segment.
