Dutchtown

Dutchtown, sometimes called People of Dutchtown (POD), is a mixed residential and industrial neighborhood in the City of Rochester. Lyell Avenue forms a commercial border with Lyell-Otis to the north.

The name derives from its founding population of German immigrants, who called the area "Deutschtown" (Germantown). The original boundaries, c. 1810, started near the High Falls are of the Genesee River. The neighborhood grew westerly from there as people migrated their living quarters from the industrial and mill area, which later included some of the original Kodak area buildings. The Deutschtown area also included what is today the adjacent JOSANA Neighborhood.

Caring Park and Kilburn Park are the neighborhood green spaces.
