Fishing is a popular outdoor pastime in the Greater Rochester area with Lake Ontario, Irondequoit Bay, Sodus Bay, the Genesee River, Irondequoit Creek, the Erie Canal, the Finger Lakes and countless parks with ponds dotting the region.

Powder Mills Park - Includes a winding stream with easy access over flat terrain throughout most of its course. It also has at least one location with a pier like structure that should be easily wheel chair accessible.

Slater Creek Fishing Access Site near Charlotte/Greece border on Beach Road near Russell Station Power Plant as well as the discharge channel on the lake side of the road. Warm water year-round provides good onshore fishing. More mobile anglers can also wade out about 50 feet into the lake. Ample public parking. Or take the #1 bus.
