La Avenida is the name given to the commercial backbone of Rochester's Hispanic district. The area is home to the city's largest concentration of Latino/Latina residents, mostly Puerto Ricans, about 39% of whom live in the "immediate trade area" (a one-mile radius) of North Clinton and Clifford.
The southern gateway to La Avenida at North Clinton and Upper Falls is anchored by Los Flamoyanes apartments and Algarin Community Center on Borinquen Plaza. Don Samuel Torres Park is located adjacent to the north.
From 2000 to 2015, La Avenida underwent numerous beautification, safety, and revitalization efforts that helped transform it into the bustling district it is today.

Similar to Thurston Village, most amenities here are churches, corner stores, small shops, and services catering to nearby residents. Naturally, the La Avenida is also a destination for Caribbean cuisine. Establishments here include:
