Winton Road is a major route that passes through Henrietta, Brighton, southeastern Rochester, and Irondequoit. It divides into North and South Winton at East Avenue, near the Wegmans. Note that locations along either side of Winton Road will often have a Rochester address, despite being outside city limits.
North Winton Road is the northern portion of Winton Road. It travels north from East Avenue, near the border with Brighton, and into the inner-ring suburb of Irondequoit. Along the way, it passes through the following city neighborhoods:
North Winton enters Irondequoit at Spencer Road. Note that a large portion of Tryon Park and I-590 are considered part of the city, despite being north of Spencer. Unfortunately, North Winton is a very poor street for bicycles, as it is has a lot of traffic and offers almost no shoulder. Located on North Winton RoadTraveling north. City of RochesterNorth Winton in the city is a bustling blend of businesses, services, and residences. Its commercial vitality inspired the neighborhood formerly known as Culver-Winton-Main to be renamed North Winton Village.
Major intersections are University Avenue, Blossom Road, Humboldt Street, Atlantic Avenue, East Main Street, and Merchants Road. IrondequoitNorth Winton in Irondequoit is predominantly residential. The northernmost part, however, is dominated by McAvoy Park. This section crosses over I-590 but does not offer access.

South Winton Road is the southern portion of Winton Road. In the city, it travels through the residential Cobbs Hill Neighborhood. It continues into the inner-ring suburb of Brighton, and becomes Pinnacle Road once it passes Lysander Drive in Henrietta. Located on South WintonTraveling south. BrightonHighland Avenue marks the division between Brighton and the city. Other major intersections are Monroe Avenue, Elmwood Avenue, Westfall Road, and I-590. South Winton also passes over the Erie Canal and runs parallel to the Erie Canal Trail from Meridian Center Boulevard to the canal itself, where the trail crosses over South Winton going east. The intersection with Monroe and Elmwood is called the Twelve Corners and it is the focal point of Brighton's section of Monroe Avenue due to its commercial density. Brighton Commons and the Twelve Corners Plaza are two major shopping centers located on the corner of South Winton and Monroe. South Winton also has numerous amenities catering to Brighton's large Jewish community. Neighborhoods located along South Winton include Meadowbrook, the Houston Barnard Tract, and the Bel-Air Neighborhood.
HenriettaThe Brighton Henrietta Town Line Road divides Brighton and Henrietta. This area is heavily commercial and car-oriented. Jefferson Road is a major intersection.
